Not far from the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, this small château has everything to charm you. Small but not so small, the gardens are magnificent and it will take you a good hour to explore them. A must-see!

A small, stately castle from the High Middle Ages, transformed during the Renaissance with some Neoclassical elements. Now privately owned, the owner treated us very kindly during our European Heritage Days visit. The surroundings are lovely, and the photos of its drawbridge make it truly unique. I highly recommend a visit: easily accessible, on a plain and in a very peaceful area, so it’s not one of those castles that gets overcrowded. It also hosts events and can be arranged for that purpose.
